Val di Sole in summer
| In summer, the mountain landscape of Val di Sole features imposing and majestic settings: timeless glaciers crown the massive and incredibly high mountains whose slopes are rich in woodlands, leaving space at the lower part of the valley to farmland and orchards. Another dominating aspect in the mountain landscape is the water, in which the Sole, Pejo and Rabbi valleys are extremely rich. While the river Noce runs along the bottom of the valley, an ideal training place for enthusiasts of canoeing, rafting and kayak, from the sides of the mountains rush numerous streams and spectacular waterfalls decorate the surroundings with their white gushing water. The towns of Val di Sole, where marks of the long gone alpine villages can still be seen, preserve buildings of historical and artistic interest, such as a number of churches, Castel Caldes, the Samoclevo fortress and the Castle of Ossana. |
